OH HAPPY DAY!

That's right, friends and fam! This is the long awaited SISTER ACT post! My Deloris van Cartier Premiere was three days ago and I am still on cloud nine :). It went extremely well. Hubby and some great friends and colleagues were in the audience which was so wonderful. Another big blessing is that I have an unspeakably supportive cast. While I was onstage I could see tons of little nuns in my periphery huddling in the wings cheering me on.

Hubby took this photo in the lobby on my Premiere tonight. Quick German tutorial:
Ronacher= the name of the theater
Abendbesetzung= this evening's cast
Sidonie Smith= me!

Taking photos during the show is a big no-no but I do have quite a few great photos from my run-through rehearsal the day before. Because it is a rehearsal not everyone is in full costume, but I am!

My first wig fitting! Just like the beautiful wigs in Buddy Holly, these wigs are custom made for my head and match my hairline precisely. Each strand was stitched by hand by super wig designer Pav Stalmach

(Pav also kindly informed me that I have the biggest noggin of all Delorises wolrdwide-- Broadway, London and Hamburg. Thanks Pav;))
Finale hair

The hairstyle I wear for the majority of the show;)

My face paint;)

Here's a little vid from hair&makeup the night of my premiere.

OK, let's go!

I suspect that I am also the tallest Deloris worldwide. Especially with the help of the boots

Receiving the worst Christmas present EVER!

If you know the show, this is the number "Fabulous, Baby":)

The police station

Arriving at the convent

Getting a first glance at my new outfit

Teaching the nuns to siiiiiing!

That's me on the left!

Saying goodbye to Mary Robert

One of my favorites. the song "Sister Act"

My friend (and dressingroom-mate) Suzanne as Mother Superior!

The finale!!

And here a little something fun that I know at least my mom will realllllllllllly enjoy! :)

We celebrated afterward the way the European Smiths always celebrate-- with sushi:D

I made a valiant effort but obviously couldn't finish my celebratory sushi without help of one Ryan Christopher Smith:)

Yup. That was it. Kind of surreal. And the really fun part is that I get to do it all again tomorrow!

Love you guys!

Amazing Sidonie.

You are Incredible!!! And I love seeing your updates!

Are you going to use any of the costumes and dress up for Halloween? :-) That's probably frowned upon, huh. Ha!

Hey S.i.d.o.n.i.e
Sarah's mom here!! I think this is sooo cool. You are fabulous and its an honor to know you. I got a kick out of the huge Madonna statue at finale. Are you staying in one city now, not commuting to Vienna? We were in Vienna at the end of August and wished I knew the theater at which you were working. ENJOY,
love Jana McClure

Oh...the photos and the videos and the descriptions!!! The only thing better than this would be to be there in person seeing all this, and of course getting hugs! God is faithful and keeps his word! YOU were, and will be again, the LEAD in Sister Act!

@Allie- Hi!!!! You may certainly have my autograph. But I only give it out in person ;)

@CR- You're up next!!

@Sarah- Thank you friend! HA! No, I think they would probably snatch me by the habit and drag me back to the theatre if I was found Halloween-ing in costume!:D

@Mrs. McClure- Thank you so much! Yes, we are official Vienna residents for the run of Sister Act. NO MORE COMMUTING (at least for now:)). Too bad we missed each other in August! On the chance that you're back anytime soon, it's The Ronacher Theater!

@Ma- Glad you enjoyed it, oh most faithful reader of my blog! Love you!
